Opening the show with a tantalising belly dancer, Colleena Shakti balancing a sword on her head, the scene was set for “an edge of seat” show of stylish men’s wear.

Rohit and Abhishek once again brought into sharp focus at Lakmé Fashion Week Summer/Resort 2013, a men’s wear line called “The Urban Tribe” that recreated the stately look of Rajasthan. The colours were earthy and rich, ideal for those hot summer months. Faded white, dusty beige, alloy grey, emerald, tidal blue and rustic red was given a touch of traditional craft with threads and metallic shreds. Bringing in innovative textures, the collection was a great fusion of style and workmanship but with that contemporary twist added to it.

Textures were rich with weaves that were strong in colour and design. New style directions were the fringed hems for trousers and jackets or at times with rivets. Embroidery appeared for cuffs and hemlines of double vent jackets. A split black and white print jacket and patched trousers will make news on the fashion front.
